In March this year, NHS England released its 2024/2025 Operational Planning Guidance and Priorities, outlining key focus areas for improvement. The guidance highlights the urgent need for recovering core services, improving productivity, and supporting the workforce. Evidence-based objectives have been set to deliver these improvements at both a local and national level, across primary, community, and emergency care and mental health services.
Twelve key national objectives have been set for NHS England for it to assess its performance, alongside local priorities agreed by ICSs (integrated care systems).
